The Trump administration’s threat of massive new tariffs has sent Apple Inc.’s share price plummeting, but it also brought a short-term benefit: customers rushing to retail stores to buy iPhones. Employees from different Apple locations across the country said stores filled with customers over the weekend — with the shoppers expressing concerns that prices will climb dramatically after the levies are imposed. Most iPhones, Apple’s best-selling and most important product, are manufactured in China, which is in line for tariffs of 54%.One employee said their store was slammed with people panic-buying phones: “Almost every customer asked me if prices were going to go up soon,” said the worker, who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly.Though stores didn’t necessarily see the kind of lines that come with an iPhone launch, the atmosphere was like the busy holiday season, employees said. “People are just rushing in worried and asking questions,” one said, adding that the company hasn’t provided guidance to stores on how to handle such inquiries. The frenzy has translated to more purchases. Apple’s US retail stores saw higher sales over this past weekend than in prior years in at least some major markets, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. An Apple spokesperson declined to comment.Apple will report its fiscal second-quarter results on May 1, giving Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook and Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh an opportunity to discuss the effect of expected tariffs. During the holiday-quarter conference call, Cook said the company was assessing the impact but wouldn’t comment further.The stock market’s tariff meltdown has hit Apple especially hard. In a bid to reduce the toll moving forward, Apple is steering more devices made in India to the US market, Bloomberg News has reported. The country is currently set to be taxed at a lower level than China. Apple also has spent years shifting more of its production to Vietnam, which will have a slimmer tariff than China. The company has manufactured Apple Watches, Macs, AirPods and iPads in that country. It also produces some Mac models in Ireland, Thailand and Malaysia. Apple’s flagship retail store on Fifth Avenue in New York was busy Monday afternoon. Ambar De Elia, a Buenos Aires native, is visiting New York and was already planning to get an iPhone 15 for her younger sister. But when she woke up this morning and saw the news about Wall Street, she thought now was the best time to splurge.Analysts and industry watchers have been trying to gauge the impact of a 54% China tariff on prices, with some speculating that iPhones could soon cost thousands of dollars apiece.In reality, Apple is likely to take a number of steps — including squeezing its suppliers and putting up with lower margins — to keep prices from soaring, Bloomberg News has reported. Apple’s latest flagship iPhone currently starts at $999 — a level that has remained constant since 2017.“I think everyone is here because of the fear, they don’t know what’s going to happen,” De Elia said. “If we have the possibility to buy something at a lower price of course we are going to.”One employee at the store said he wouldn’t be surprised to see the rush continue at stores over the next few days. Another worker noted that this is typically considered the off-peak season — new iPhones are released in September — but many customers are upgrading now.The surge could help bolster results in Apple’s third quarter, which runs through June. Since the company is selling the inventory it already accumulated, the impact from tariffs won’t likely be felt until the following quarter.

डिजिटल डेस्क, नई दिल्ली। आंध्र प्रदेश के विशाखापट्टनम से एक हैरान करने वाली खबर सामने आई है। विशाखापट्टनम में 30 छात्र अपने परीक्षा केंद्र तक नहीं पहुंच सके और इंजीनियरिंग प्रवेश परीक्षा देने में असफल रहे। ऐसा आंध्र प्रदेश के उपमुख्यमंत्री पवन कल्याण के काफिले के कारण हुआ।

काफिले ने परीक्षा केंद्र तक पहुंचने के मार्ग को जाम कर दिया था। छात्रों और उनके अभिभावकों में इस घटना को लेकर भारी चिंता है। उनका कहना है कि इस घटना ने उनके शैक्षणिक भविष्य पर गहरा असर डाला है। छात्रों का भविष्य दांव पर लगा है, और वे इस घटना के लिए जिम्मेदार लोगों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की मांग कर रहे हैं।

एग्जाम सेंटर के गेट से छात्रों को भेजा वापस

पेंडुर्थी एआई डिजिटल जेई एडवांस्ड प्रोग्राम के छात्र संयुक्त प्रवेश परीक्षा (मुख्य) दे रहे थे। साथ ही जो राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थानों (एनआईटी) में प्रवेश निर्धारित करता है - ने कहा कि यातायात अवरुद्ध होने के कारण वे अपने परीक्षा केंद्र पर देरी से पहुंचे। उन्होंने कहा कि सभी 30 छात्रों को परीक्षा हॉल के गेट से वापस कर दिया गया और उन्हें परीक्षा में बैठने की अनुमति नहीं दी गई।

एक छात्र की मां बी कलावती ने दावा किया कि पवन कल्याण के काफिले के लिए लागू यातायात प्रतिबंधों के कारण उनके बेटे को देरी हुई। समाचार एजेंसी प्रेस ट्रस्ट ऑफ इंडिया ने कलावती के हवाले से कहा कि हम ट्रैफिक में फंस गए थे। यह इसलिए रुका था क्योंकि कल्याण अराकू जा रहे थे। एक अन्य अभिभावक ने कहा कि उन्होंने उपमुख्यमंत्री से प्रभावित छात्रों के लिए परीक्षा पुनर्निर्धारित करने पर विचार करने की अपील की है।

क्या बोला AISF?

ऑल इंडिया स्टूडेंट्स फेडरेशन (एआईएसएफ) ने परीक्षा के दौरान यातायात प्रबंधन में अक्षमता के लिए अधिकारियों को जिम्मेदार ठहराया है। एआईएसएफ का कहना है कि छात्रों को परीक्षा में बैठने का अवसर नहीं मिला।

विपक्षी वाईएसआर कांग्रेस के प्रवक्ता कार्तिक येल्लाप्रगदा ने राज्य के विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री के रूप में पवन कल्याण के प्रदर्शन पर सवाल उठाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य को एक बेहतर मंत्री की आवश्यकता है, जो सिनेमाई छवि से ऊपर उठकर वास्तविक जवाबदेही प्रदान कर सके। 

पुलिस ने छात्रों को ठहराया जिम्मेदार

पवन कल्याण के कार्यालय से संपर्क किया गया, लेकिन कोई जवाब नहीं मिला। इस बीच पुलिस ने एक पोस्ट में दावा किया कि छात्रों को सुबह 7 बजे तक परीक्षा केंद्रों पर पहुंचने की उम्मीद थी। पुलिस के अनुसार अगर ये 30 छात्र समय पर पहुंच जाते, तो यातायात में फंसने का कोई सवाल ही नहीं था।

पुलिस के मुताबिक छात्रों को सुबह 7 बजे परीक्षा केंद्र पर रिपोर्ट करना था, लेकिन वे देर से पहुंचे। उपमुख्यमंत्री पवन कल्याण का काफिला सुबह 8:41 बजे उस क्षेत्र से गुजरा, जो छात्रों के देर से पहुंचने के समय से काफी बाद का है। इससे यह स्पष्ट होता है कि उपमुख्यमंत्री का काफिला छात्रों की देरी का कारण नहीं था।

Shares of Bharat Electronics (BEL) rose 5.3% to an intraday high of Rs 287.85 on BSE on Tuesday after the defence PSU secured a significant order worth Rs 2,210 crore (excluding taxes) from the Ministry of Defence. The contract is for the supply of state-of-the-art Electronic Warfare (EW) suites for the Indian Air Force’s Mi-17V5 helicopters.The advanced EW suite has been indigenously designed by DRDO’s Centre for Airborne Systems and Integrated Defence Combat Systems (CASDIC), and will be manufactured by BEL. The system includes a Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS), and Counter Measure Dispensing System (CMDS), aimed at enhancing helicopter survivability by detecting and countering radar and missile threats.This order marks a strategic boost to India’s defence indigenisation efforts and strengthens BEL’s long-standing role in supporting the armed forces. With this contract, BEL’s total order intake in FY25 has risen to Rs 2,803 crore.Earlier, on April 1, BEL reported total orders worth Rs 18,715 crore for FY25, short of its Rs 25,000 crore guidance. An RSI below 30 signals oversold conditions, while above 70 indicates overbought territory. The stock’s MACD stands at 5.9, above the center line but below the signal line. BEL shares are currently trading below all key short- and long-term moving averages, including the 5-day to 200-day simple moving averages (SMAs).BEL shares price performanceOn Monday, BEL shares closed at Rs 273.1 on the BSE, down 2.5%, while the benchmark Sensex declined 1.95%. IN current week we have seen 50% correction as there is a Spin OFF in the stock making the price half of the previous day's closing level.The stock has strong support around 2400-2200, making it a good buying zone for the long term. One can buy this stock if the price comes near its range of support or within the range. On the higher side we can see the price to go up till 3500-3800 in the coming 10-12 months.Hence one can buy at dips of 2600 and further more at dips of 2400 with stop loss of 2200 on weekly closing basis and upside can be seen till 3500-3800 in the coming 10-12 months.

जागरण संवाददाता, पटना। Bihar Weather: बिहार में गर्मी से बेहाल लोगों के लिए राहत की खबर है। पटना समेत अधिसंख्य भागों के मौसम में बदलाव के आसार हैं। राजधानी व आसपास इलाकों में बादल छाए रहने के साथ गरज-तड़क के साथ छिटपुट वर्षा की संभावना है।

इन 4 जिलों में भीषण गर्मी के बीच राहत

मंगलवार यानी आज बिहार के 4 जिलों किशनगंज, अररिया, पूर्णिया एवं सुपौल जिले में एक या दो स्थानों पर 40-50 किमी प्रतिघंटा की रफ्तार से तेज हवा चलने के साथ गरज-तड़क व वर्षा के आसार हैं।

मौसम में हो रहे बदलाव को देखते हुए यलो अलर्ट जारी किया गया है। प्रदेश के अलग-अलग भागों में 13 अप्रैल तक गरज-तड़क के साथ छिटपुट वर्षा व तेज हवा चलने की संभावना है। इस दौरान तापमान में गिरावट आने के साथ लोगों को चिलचिलाती गर्मी से राहत मिलने की उम्मीद है।

अधिकतम तापमान में 2 से 3 डिग्री की गिरावट का पूर्वानुमान

मौसम विभाग के अनुसार 48 घंटों के दौरान अधिकतम तापमान में दो से तीन डिग्री की गिरावट का पूर्वानुमान है। सोमवार को पटना व आसपास इलाकों में पुरवा के कारण उमस भरी गर्मी से लोग परेशान रहे। आंशिक रूप से बादल छाए रहे।

पश्चिम हिमालय के क्षेत्रों में पश्चिमी विक्षोभ के कारण प्रदेश के मौसम में बदलाव देखने को मिल रहा है। वहीं दक्षिण पूर्व बंगाल की खाड़ी व आसपास इलाकों में हवा का चक्रवाती परिसंचरण व निम्न दबाव का क्षेत्र बना हुआ है।

प्रदेश का सबसे कम न्यूनतम तापमान 16.4 डिग्री सेल्सियस मधेपुरा में जबकि राजधानी का न्यूनतम तापमान सोमवार को सामान्य से चार डिग्री ऊपर चढ़ने के साथ 25.8 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया।

पटना का अधिकतम तापमान 39.2 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया जबकि 40.4 डिग्री सेल्सियस के साथ डेहरी में प्रदेश का सर्वाधिक अधिकतम तापमान दर्ज किया गया। मौसम में आए बदलाव को लेकर लोगों को सर्तक रहने की जरूरत है।

बदलते मौसम को देखते हुए सतर्क रहने की जरूरत

मौसम विज्ञान केंद्र पटना की ओर से सलाह जारी करते हुए बताया कि वाहन चलाते समय सावधानी बरतने के साथ सुरक्षित स्थानों पर गाड़ियों को लगाएं। बदलते मौसम पर नजर रखते हुए सुरक्षित जगहों पर जाने को तैयार रहे।

बिजली चमकने व मेघ गर्जन के समय पेड़ के पास ना जाएं। तेज हवा चलने के समय खासतौर पर नाव से आवागमन न करें। खेती किसानी को लेकर किसानों को काट कर रखी गई फसलों की देखभाल करने पर बल दिया है।

खलिहानों पर पड़े अनाज को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर रखने की बात कही है। इस दौरान पशुओं को सुरक्षित स्थान पर रखना जरूरी है।

प्रमुख शहरों के तापमान में वृद्धि 

बीते 24 घंटों के मौसम में आए बदलाव के कारण पटना सहित प्रमुख शहरों के अधिकतम तापमान में गिरावट दर्ज की गई। पटना के अधिकतम तापमान में 3.1 डिग्री सेल्सियस, सासाराम में 2.2 डिग्री, बक्सर में 3.6 डिग्री, भोजपुर में 2.5 डिग्री, बेगूसराय में पांच डिग्री, समस्तीपुर में 3.2 डिग्री, गोपालगंज में तीन डिग्री, जमुई में 2.4 डिग्री, दरभंगा में 2.4 डिग्री, सुपौल में 1.9 डिग्री, मधेपुरा में 3.3 डिग्री सेल्सियस की गिरावट दर्ज की गई।

जागरण टीम, नई दिल्ली। सूरज की तपिश लोगों को परेशान करने लगी है। आलम यह है कि उत्तर प्रदेश, मध्य प्रदेश, राजस्थान, हरियाणा, पंजाब व दिल्ली जैसे मैदानी राज्यों में ही नहीं, बल्कि पहाड़ी राज्य हिमाचल प्रदेश में भी लू लोगों की समस्या बढ़ा रही है। दिल्ली में यलो अलर्ट के बीच सोमवार को दिनभर तेज धूप से लोग बेहाल रहे।

मौसम विभाग की मानें तो अभी अगले दो दिन और लू का सितम जारी रहेगा। इसके बाद तापमान में आंशिक गिरावट आने का पूर्वानुमान है। आठ से 14 किमी प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से बीच-बीच में चली गर्म हवाएं भी हालत खराब कर रही हैं। दिल्ली में इस सीजन में पहली बार अधिकतम तापमान 40 डिग्री के पार हुआ है। उत्तर प्रदेश में भी गर्मी ने तेजी पकड़ ली है।

यूपी में ऐसा रहा हाल

सोमवार को झांसी और हमीरपुर सबसे गर्म रहे, जहां का अधिकतम तापमान 42.2 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया। वहीं, हरदोई, कानपुर, वाराणसी, चुर्क (सोनभद्र), प्रयागराज, बांदा, सुलतानपुर, फुरसतगंज (अमेठी), आगरा और अलीगढ़ में भी पारा 40 डिग्री सेल्सियस से ऊपर रहा। लखनऊ में सोमवार को अधिकतम तापमान 39.2 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया। कई जिलों में लू को लेकर चेतावनी जारी की गई है।

मौसम विज्ञान केंद्र की ओर से मंगलवार और बुधवार को कई जिलों में लू चलने की आशंका जताई गई है। वहीं, पूर्वी उत्तर प्रदेश के कुछ हिस्सों में हल्की बूंदाबांदी हो सकती है, जो गर्मी से थोड़ी राहत दे सकती है। हिमाचल प्रदेश में सोमवार को धर्मशाला, भुंतर व सुंदरनगर में लू चली। धर्मशाला में अधिकतम तापमान में एक डिग्री सेल्सियस की वृद्धि के साथ 31 डिग्री सेल्सियस पहुंच गया।

हिमाचल में भी 30 डिग्री सेल्सियस का दर्ज किया गया तापमान

2022 में अप्रैल में 36 डिग्री सेल्सियस तापमान दर्ज किया गया था। हिमाचल प्रदेश में 14 स्थानों पर अधिकतम तापमान 30 डिग्री सेल्सियस के पार, जबकि कांगड़ा और ऊना में 35 डिग्री सेल्सियस के पार पहुंच गया। सबसे अधिक तापमान ऊना में 36.8 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया जो सामान्य से चार डिग्री अधिक है। हिमाचल प्रदेश में अधिकतम तापमान सामान्य से छह से सात डिग्री सेल्सियस अधिक दर्ज किया गया है।

इसलिए पड़ रही इतनी गर्मी

मौसम विज्ञानियों का कहना है कि अप्रैल में ही इस साल इतनी अधिक गर्मी पड़ने की वजह जलवायु परिवर्तन एवं ग्लोबल वार्मिंग का असर तो है ही, Western Disturbance का अभाव भी है। मार्च में 90 प्रतिशत तक कम वर्षा दर्ज हुई तो अप्रैल में अभी तक एक बूंद भी नहीं बरसी है। इस पर भी हवा की दिशा अब दक्षिणी पूर्वी हो गई है। राजस्थान की ओर से आ रही गर्म हवा और ज्यादा गर्मी बढ़ा रही है।

मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक जब अधिकतम तापमान 40 डिग्री से ऊपर और सामान्य से साढ़े चार से साढ़े छह डिग्री सेल्सियस ऊपर रहता है तो ऐसी स्थिति को लू की स्थिति मानी जाती है।
