पीटीआई, नई दिल्ली। भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (ISRO) के पूर्व प्रमुख और प्रख्यात अंतरिक्ष वैज्ञानिक डॉ. के. कस्तूरीरंगन का 84 साल की उम्र में निधन हो गया। उन्होंने बेंगलुरु में अंतिम सांस ली।

27 अप्रैल को लोग कर सकेंगे अंतिम दर्शन

के कस्तूरीरंगन नई राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति (NEP) के मसौदा समिति के अध्यक्ष भी थे। अधिकरियों ने बताया कि आज सुबह उनका निधान हुआ है। 27 अप्रैल को अंतिम दर्शन के लिए उनका पार्थिव शरीर रमन रिसर्च इंस्टीट्यूट (RRI) में रखा जाएगा।

एनईपी में सूचीबद्ध शिक्षा सुधारों के पीछे के व्यक्ति के रूप में जाने जाने वाले कस्तूरीरंगन ने जवाहरलाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति और कर्नाटक ज्ञान आयोग के अध्यक्ष के रूप में भी कार्य किया था।

राष्ट्रपति ने शोक व्यक्त किया

राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मु ने डॉ. कस्तूरीरंगन के निधन पर शोक व्यक्त कर सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म एक्स पर पोस्ट किया। उन्होंने लिखा, "यह जानकर दुख हुआ कि डॉ. कृष्णस्वामी कस्तूरीरंगन अब हमारे बीच नहीं रहे। इसरो के प्रमुख के रूप में उन्होंने भारत के अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम के विकास में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।"

राष्ट्रपति ने दुख जताते हुए लिखा, "ज्ञान के प्रति अपने जुनून के साथ, उन्होंने विविध क्षेत्रों में भी बहुत योगदान दिया। उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति का मसौदा तैयार करने में मदद की, जो पहले से ही अगली पीढ़ी के निर्माण पर गहरा प्रभाव डाल रही है। उनके परिवार और प्रशंसकों के प्रति मेरी संवेदनाएं।"

पीएम मोदी ने दुख प्रकट किया

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भी पूर्व इसरो प्रमुख के निधन पर दुख जताया है। उन्होंने सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म एक्स पर पोस्ट कर लिखा, "मैं भारत की वैज्ञानिक और शैक्षिक यात्रा में एक महत्वपूर्ण व्यक्ति डॉ. के. कस्तूरीरंगन के निधन से बहुत दुखी हूं। उनके दूरदर्शी नेतृत्व और राष्ट्र के प्रति निस्वार्थ योगदान को हमेशा याद रखा जाएगा।"

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. K. Kasturirangan, a towering figure in India’s scientific and educational journey. His visionary leadership and selfless contribution to the nation will always be remembered.

पीएम मोदी ने लिखा, "उन्होंने इसरो में बहुत मेहनत से काम किया, भारत के अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम को नई ऊंचाइयों पर पहुंचाया, जिसके लिए हमें वैश्विक मान्यता भी मिली। उनके नेतृत्व में महत्वाकांक्षी उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण भी हुए और नवाचार पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया।"

राज्यसभा के सदस्य भी रह चुके हैं कस्तूरीरंगन

डॉ. कस्तूरीरंगन साल 2003 से लेकर 2009 तक राज्यसभा के सदस्य भी रहे और तत्कालीन भारतीय योजना आयोग के सदस्य के रूप में भी कार्य किया था। कस्तूरीरंगन अप्रैल 2004 से 2009 तक नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ एडवांस्ड स्टडीज, बैंगलोर के निदेशक भी रहे।
