Rich Dad Poor Dad author Kiyosaki predicts silver prices could double, calls it 'best bargain' right now
Robert Kiyosaki, author of the best-selling personal finance book Rich Dad Poor Dad, said on Wednesday that he is increasing his silver holdings, calling the metal “the biggest investment bargain today.” He predicted that silver could double in price this year, even as gold reaches record highs and Bitcoin continues to play a key role in his long-term investment strategy. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kiyosaki wrote, “GOOD NEWS for people with not much money. I am buying more silver eagles today. The good news is silver is the biggest investment bargain today.” He added, “Gold has already hit all-time highs. I have plenty of Bitcoin. And silver is still 50% below its all-time high… today about $35.”— theRealKiyosaki (@theRealKiyosaki) He predicted that silver could double in value this year, saying, “I believe silver will 2x to $70 this year.” Reiterating one of his key investing principles, he quoted his “rich dad”: “Your profit is made when you buy… not when you sell.” Kiyosaki concluded the post with a nod to his gradual wealth-building approach, writing, “I got rich a ‘little by little’… and never sell. Take care.”His remarks come amid renewed interest in precious metals. Gold surged to a new record of $3,500 an ounce on Tuesday—its 28th record high of the year—while spot silver rose 0.5% to $32.67. Platinum and palladium eased slightly, down 0.2% to $956.53 and $933.72, respectively.Longstanding scepticism toward paper assetsKiyosaki has long advised investors to pivot away from traditional financial products like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, warning that inflation and excessive money printing would erode the value of fiat currencies. His recent comments build on a series of warnings posted earlier this month, where he described the current global market selloff as the fulfilment of a prediction made in his 2002 book.In an April 7 post, Kiyosaki declared, “That stock market crash arrived today. We are definitely in a RECESSION and more than likely…a DEPRESSION.” He blamed rising geopolitical tensions—particularly the escalating U.S.-China tariff conflict—and criticised the U.S. monetary system for relying on what he calls “fake paper assets.”Also read | Rich Dad Poor Dad author prophecy on stock market crash coming true? Here's what Kiyosaki had predictedMarkets rebound, but uncertainty lingersKiyosaki’s latest investment call came as financial markets attempted to recover from a steep selloff earlier in the week. On Wednesday, a rally across Asian equities followed comments from U.S. President Donald Trump, who said he had no intention of removing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and hinted at softer tariffs for China.U.S. stock futures bounced, with S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures gaining 1.8% and 2%, respectively. The dollar also strengthened, recovering from recent lows, as investors interpreted Trump’s remarks as a signal of reduced pressure on the Fed’s independence and a potential easing of trade tensions.Doubling down on silverDespite the market rebound, Kiyosaki remains cautious and is doubling down on assets he believes offer real, long-term value. With gold at record highs and Bitcoin already in his portfolio, he is turning his focus to silver, which he sees as undervalued and accessible.Kiyosaki’s message on Wednesday reinforced his view that wealth can be built steadily through disciplined purchases of tangible assets. For small investors, the author said, silver remains within reach. “GOOD NEWS for people with not much money,” he wrote. “Almost everyone in the world can afford at least one ounce of silver.”(Disclaimer: Recommendations, suggestions, views and opinions given by the experts are their own.
